You really don't have to spend lots of money brightening up your apartment for the holidays when you have a balcony herb garden and love hunting around in craft shops. This is what we did underneath one of the kitchen shelves using some antique-looking doorknobs and ribbon.
The dried lavender adds some colour and scent while the stalks of basil flowers give the kitchen a clean spicy smell as well as being a fly-deterrent now that summer has finally arrived in the Southern Hemisphere! The little craft pieces fit with our beach-style interior
